Oh boy have we had fun with this week!
We started of with a family movie night and watched
Mr. Poppers Penguins and ate 3 different flavors of popcorn.
And then ended our week watching the
Amazing Polar Bear Adventure and making homemade pizza.
I had so many P activities planned that we could have easily taken
2 full weeks to complete this letter.
We didn’t get to all of them, but I have saved them for a different letter that
doesn’t have as much planned.
Here’s a peak at what we did:
Elaina got out the Word Whammer. P says puh…
Letter P worksheet from Confessions of a Homeschooler…
Priddy Book Wipe Clean Flash Cards: Letter P for pig...
Play doh page and cookie cutter from this set.
P is for Panda Bear magnet page from Making Learning Fun.
She wanted to put purple play-doh polka-dots on it this time.
Loving that cheesy smile!
We read Pand Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?, and then played the game.
We also read a book we got from the library about Panda Bears.
Her number workbook. She is up to 8.
Letter P hunt and smallest object page.
Next she put these 6 Scene Sequencing Cards of a boy making pizza in order.
We labeled them beginning, middle, and end.
Here’s a fun math idea with this fun Melissa and Doug Pizza Party set.
I wrote out numbers next to the pizza toppings and then
she made the pizza accordingly.
We’ve had this set for a long time, and all of the kids have loved it!
For her abc review, she and I worked on this cute When I Grow Up puzzle together.
We had a lot of fun telling the tale of the 3 little pigs with this magnetic set
I found unopened at a thrift store for $1.
We listened to the story and Elaina acted it out with the pieces.
She loved doing this!
We also have the puppets to the story and they came out a lot this week too.
We read lots and lots of penguin books and then watched Happy Feet.
She wanted to make a poster with a penguin.
I think it turned out adorable! ( The G is backwards…)
You can see the egg the penguin is sitting on.
I was worried we would have to do a
little extra anatomy lesson that I wasn’t planning on…(ahem).
Just a little clarification worked it out though!
We did a little bit of simple patterning with these pink and purple foam beads.
Then when she was done she made a necklace out of them.
Elaina is completely into everything princess.
I mean completely.
Since much of her life revolves around her life as a princess,
we didn’t spend a lot of time on this theme.
We did get out this fun felt set and her
Cinderella Preschool Pack I made her last year.
(Sorry I can't find the source!)
Here’s the clock at midnight.
The rest of the pack includes counting, shapes, colors, and royal vocabulary words.
She wrote out her name and taped it together into an accordion.
Of course, she had lots of tea parties, dressed in gowns, wore fancy crowns,
and danced in the ballroom (A.K.A. our kitchen!)
What a fun week! The penguin poster turned out so cute! And the tea party looks like a lot of fun.
