Posh Princess Preschool {Letter Zz}

Z is for Zebras!
My l’il Diva was  so excited to complete this last week of Preschool!  I am so very proud of her!  We are planning a trip to the zoo in the near future as part of her celebration.  Here is a look at what she did:

Of course we had to finish off our alphabet sounds with the Word Whammer.  Z says zuh!

And her last Handwriting Worksheet from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Did the Letter Z Play-doh page…

And letter Z dough stampers with her Letter Hunt Worksheet.

She still doesn’t want to use magnets with the Magnet Page but she agreed to color it in…

She is getting more comfortable using the Purpllinker and made the Z on her own.

She counted Zebras and played a really cute dice game.

Then she lined up zebras in numerical order and placed the correct number of bear counters on each.

I made up a new KWL Chart for her Zebra study.  I am in the process of making up a big bunch of these for Kindergarten for her, so she will do this one, and the Fox one again next year.  You can print your own set too:

First we fill out the K and W:  What she already KNOWS about Zebras, and what she WANTS to learn about Zebras.  We checked out some books from the library and also this site online.  I made a set of Zebra Fact Cards too, and she loved looking through those several times.

After all of our reading was done, we completed the rest of the KWL Chart and filled in the L:  What she LEARNED about Zebras.  She also used the worksheet to color her own picture.

She colored and cut out a Zebra....

And learned a new song.

We played Animal Lotto and she used her Safari Toob to mark her spaces.

And made lots of creations with ZOOBS.

Just for Fun!
We had some special “girl-time” this week while her brothers were gone camping with their grandparents.  She and I did lots of fun girly things together including making a cake.  She mixed it, baked it, rolled fondant, and decorated it with sprinkles.

She said the best part was eating it and spending time alone with me.  So sweet!

Great Job Elaina!
I love you!

Kitten Update {6 & 7 weeks}

So I’m the first to admit that having these kitties around has been fun.

For a while….

And now, I’m kind of over it.  For some reason, I had it in my mind that they would wean at 6 weeks and off they would go to their new homes.

Nope.

More like 8-10 weeks.  So here we are with 4 very rambunctious, trouble causing kittens.  And 4 very doting children, who insist upon playing with, carrying around, and (ahem) fighting over said kittens.  It’s really a bit more drama than this momma can handle….

It’s all fun and games until a kitten gets trapped in the play-kitchen’s oven.

Or climbs up the screen door.  Or poops in the school room.  Or gets stuck in the wall between cabinets.  Or gets colored on with markers.

Yep.  All of those have happened…

I will say that all of this attention is making for some pretty sweet kittens, who are all very tolerant and patient with kids.
