Weekly Wrap-Up {The one that we celebrated Christmas three times}
It’s actually pretty normal for us to break up our Christmas celebrations.
We’ve chosen to do this in order to preserve a bit of sanity during this very busy month.
I made homemade Cinnamon Rolls for our Christmas with my Dad and stepmom. They took forever to raise, but were sooo yummy!
We do a picture like this every year! Fun to see how the kids change each Christmas .
The kids opened lots of fun gifts and played quietly for a long time with them.
We finished off most of our 25 Days of Christmas list. We all really enjoyed it, but next year I may change it up a bit. (You can click here to see some of what we did.)
Poor Elaina got sick. She was miserable for a couple of days.
I felt like I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this week, getting ready for all of the gatherings. I made homemade noodles for Chicken Noodle Soup, and 4 loaves of Sausage Bread for Christmas morning breakfast. Saul made Snowballs and I baked up some more Grinch cookies and Fudge for Christmas Eve.
Monday we went to Christmas Eve service at church and by the time we got back, my sister, brother-in-law, and niece were there. It was wonderful to be able to meet her finally!
More family came over as well and we ate a ton of sweets and played Dominoes.
We tucked the kids into bed and hoped (all in vein) that they would sleep.
Christmas morning came waaaay to early. The boys were both up around 2 (and every hour after that) to wake up my brother and start the present opening. Finally at 5 am my brother could hold them off no longer and they all came in to wake us up.
Next year I will be more specific when I tuck them into bed on Christmas Eve….
Needless to say, by 10:30 am we were dealing with some majorly crabby and tired boys.
So they took a nap.

The rest of the week was pretty lazy. Both girls were sick with colds and I was just pooped out from the busy month. We spent a lot of time playing and visiting with Gia. Saul was off from work for part of the week, and we stayed up late several nights playing Monopoly with my sis and bro-in-law.
I won’t mention who kept winning. No. That would just upset the others .
Saturday we celebrated Christmas with all the extended family on my Mom’s side. It’s always fun to see my cousins and their cute kids!
