Olivia loved her first week of Posh Princess Preschool!
Her themes for the week were:
Letter Aa, Apples, Animals
the color red, & circles.
You’ll notice, if you’ve been around my blog for awhile, that we are using a very similar set of activities for Olivia that we did for the others. Hey, if it worked for the other three kids, it’ll probably work for her! I’ll give the links for the tools that we used, but spare you the boring details of how she used them. It’s really just for this mommas sentimental heart to document this fun age!

Olivia’s favorite book right now is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. She found it one day in our bookshelf this summer. Once she discovered that it had the ABC’s in it, she carried it around, and proudly sang the ABC song to anyone who would listen. I thought it would be so fun to make her a coconut tree and have her put up the letters each week as she learned them. The pre-made trees at the store were too expensive, but with a couple large pieces of poster board and an hour of my time, we made our own version for just $1.50. She loves it!

What are Preschool Boxes?
I’m sure you’re dying to find out.
This time around I’m trying out a mini “workbox” system that I’m just calling Preschool Boxes. Never mind they aren’t boxes at all…
On Sunday evening I pre-filled these four baskets with activities for her week, that way everything was put together and semi-organized and hopefully less stressful for me. Since we are trying to do 3-4 days/week of preschool for Olivia, this gives us plenty to do, plus a little overfill just in case.
The first basket has all of her “Letter-of-the-Week” themed activities, and the other three are filled with either theme toys or random activities. I intend to sit and do these with her, as part of her preschool time with me. She has other activities that she usually chooses, set out for her own free-play time.
I labeled each basket 1-4 with her preschool tags. The little colorful baskets and cups are from the dollar store, and I only used them because I felt they were more interesting than just throwing the Ziploc bags in all the time. Olivia doesn’t really like using the bags…
(Day 1 items are linked above, primarily LOTW stuff.)
Day 2
Lakeshore Magnetic Animals
ABC Puzzle
These magnetic animals are the coolest thing! I have never been able to find a link for them, and actually they were an amazing thrift store find (unopened in the box for like $5!) All of the kids love playing with them. The other kids love to make different animal creations, but that stressed out Olivia – she wanted them put together the right way!
Day 3
ABC Fridge Food
ABC Magnetic Puzzle
Red Color Discovery Bin
Day 4
Circle – Shape Discovery Bin
Wedgits
Safari Toob
Wooden pieces
She had the most fun just organizing these pieces into color piles. The Wedgits were her favorite toy of the week though. She loved “hiding” the safari animals in between them.
My First Calendar Journal
I wanted to include Olivia in our Calendar Journal time this year, so I made her a very simple set of printables for her own Calendar Journal! They are simple and basic, just perfect for her.
Next up: Letter B
How cute! That looks like so much fun!!! I wanna join Posh Princess Pre-School!
ReplyDeleteIs that colander a printable? I couldn't find it but am hoping it is!
