Posh Princess Preschool {D is for Dinosaur}

I wasn’t too sure that Olivia would go for the theme this week, but she totally surprised me and eagerly did every activity that I set in front of her.  Here’s a few highlights of her week:

This is her favorite part to the week!  She loves this tree and getting to hang the next letter on it.  Its in a great spot in our school room, right next to our Circle Time so that she can practice the letters each day.

Touch and Feel Dino Book, Plastic Dinos

We spent some time talking about dinosaur bones.  She thought that was really gross…

She really enjoyed matching up the dinosaurs from the book with the magnetic and plastic dinosaurs.  She kept saying, “It’s the same Mom!”

Elaina made up a color matching game for Olivia using the Dinosaur lacing set and this book.  Good job Elaina!  Then she wanted to play Dinosaur Bingo several times as well.

This Clip Card set is from here.  These tiny clothes pines were too difficult for her so we ended up using the big ones.

Dinosaur Dig Dinosaur Sensory Bin

I put together a very simple Sensory Bin this week that all of the kids loved playing with.  Olivia played with it every day.

We used: Cloud Dough, Plastic Dinos, a spoon, a paintbrush, a magnifying glass, various scoops, a bowl with marbles, and a couple of bones from this set.

There is something about this kind of messy sensory play that is soothing and calming for the kids.  That makes it worth the mess it causes. Smile

Towards the end of the week, we got out the paints for a little arts and crafts.  I drew a simple dinosaur and she did really well filling it in.

Be sure to check back next week for:
