2013: This year we....
learned how to read and mop, and really preferred the latter…
painted lots of fingers and toes….learned how to style hair…
celebrated The Worlds Greatest Dad….
hunted for bugs….played in the park….
spent time with retired people… ;)
became the official Sandwich Maker…
hung out with the coolest friends…
hunted for roly polies….
and stuck to a very strenuous summer routine...
learned how to take care of flowers and find good deals at Target….
read lots of books to each other…
got voted to have the best laugh….
wore snow boots all summer….
went to the Stampede and watched Isaac ride the SkyMaster…
hung out with some really awesome cousins…
painted…a lot….
went to Kingdom Rock…
tortured the cat…
learned how to draw…
slept like a vampire…
tried to out-shoot Robin Hood…
but discovered more practice was needed…
lost, found, and washed FooFoo 8 times…
discovered what loving a man for 16 years was like….AMAZING!
never ever smiled for the camera…despite having lots of fun…
learned that mom will make you hold hands if you fight with your brother too much…
or worse, come up with another crazy idea to get kids to behave…
went to a really fun going away party…
hosted a circus…
and learned NOT to overfill the washing machine…
became Kangaroos…
got new glasses…
always dressed in style…
made the permanent switch to homemade laundry soap…
hosted a lot of tea parties…
tried not to be afraid…
watched the yard grow some enormous mushrooms…
and collected rocks even when it made Daddy bonkers…
tried accepting that mom didn’t HAVE to cook breakfast everyday…
and then tried to defy gravity…
got a surprise visit from Uncle Cody…
and stole his hat…
had a month of company…
went on lots of walks…
embarrassed grandpa...
started at a new Integrated Arts program…
and preschool too….
laughed at dads inappropriate jokes....
built endless Lego creations…
got flooded…
memorized a long poem..
learned how to safely cross the street…some of us needed a helmet for extra safety….
and went on a fake camping trip….
learned how NOT to make biscuits…
how to write riddles, and what Dad looks like as a banana…
discovered a talent for cleaning windows…
and writing cursive isn’t as hard as it looks…
got a big girl bike…
and mastered the front flip…
made 14 dozen tortillas…
and painted all the doors white…
became best sister friends…
learned a lot about animals and early American History…
and pretended NOT to be bored…
played in the leaves…
and hosted lots of game nights…
celebrated Nate’s 9th Birthday…
played football with a soccer...
raked up tons of leaves….got our head stuck in the stairs…
ate a REAL Thanksgiving dinner and starred in a real live play…
learned how to count money, including those green paper thingys…grew up waaay to fast…
got creeped out by spiders….wrote spooky stories…
played with cousins…
and raked up even more leaves…
wrote our first report, nursed a sick kitty back to health, took Garfield ransom and girl-ified him…
made edible jewelry, painted with marbles…
and cried when Ivan was set free…
posed for too many pick-tows…got pampered…
made flubber…or jubber depending on who you ask…
raked up even more leaves…
and got gum stuck in our hair 4 times!
lost 6 teeth…
learned how to play UNO…and beat Grandpa John every time…
survived below zero weather…
found our TRUE calling…
and discovered a new way to give hugs...
learned how to brine a turkey…
how to cheat at Monopoly…
and what we’d look like as Native Americans…
remembered to include mom in the pictures…
played about a ba-jillion games of Yahtzee…
discovered patio lights actually look pretty cool on the Christmas tree..
and Olivia sings the cutest Jingle Bells....
Learned some of the names of Jesus…
how not to clean a vacuum…
and made some amazing friends...
learned that rainbow cakes are REALLY hard to make, and celebrated Elaina’s 7th Birthday…
discovered the best way to spread Christmas cheer…
learned how to make a scarf out of a t-shirt…
that Hot Rollers really are the way to go…
and how to get what you want…
celebrated 4 years with Olivia…learned how to keep sparkly teeth…
and discovered the difference between boy and girl snowmen...
