We're coming up on a new year pretty soon.
While I'm firm set on looking forward to what is to come, I also enjoy a glance back at where we've been, what we've done, and how we've changed. It seems to put time into perspective, especially lately as it seems to be going by at record speed.
I thought it would be fun to take you along with me. Kind of a pictorial look through our year. It's a pretty long post so I've divided it into two and linked it wherever I could.

found a new hiking trail…
lost four pairs of CoolBabies…
fed the palace cats…shared a day in the life around here…
visited the museum…leaned about the ocean…
Shoveled and played in lots of snow…
helped mom make 8 batches of hand soap…
mastered sass…
learned how to clean mirrors and draw butterflies…
burned off energy by riding a trike in the house…became obsessed with braids…
ordered fries with spaghetti….
studied Ruth…
learned why not to pour kitty litter down the drain…
journaled through Proverbs..
and learned the hard way why stealing is wrong…
started wearing jeans…and other pants too…
outgrew the children’s menu…got five haircuts…lost the “extra” lucky tooth…
learned how to work together…
wore PJ's for a week instead of doing laundry…
and had the best-est Easter ever…
loved having Wednesdays all to ourselves…
and lazy afternoons to do whatever sounded fun…
learned the value of hard work…
visited family in NoCo…
and hosted a college student for her long distance classes…
de-masculinized the cat…stopped peeing on everything…
started freaking out about wrinkles…
learned how to go training wheel free…
and hands free…
learned about strategy…and sportsmanship…
played “Hot Cross Buns” 976 times…
dared the boy to smile…and challenged the cat to climb…
rode the trike OUTSIDE too….celebrated when Isaac turned 9…
became royalty…learned that if you don’t politely say “good bye” to your mom, she will show up with a camera and make a big fuss about saying goodbye to you really loudly…
celebrated 9 years of being a mom…
dressed up like a ninja…in underwear…
picked oodles of dandilions…hired a lawn service…
and pretended to be homeless…
stopped taking naps….
caught grasshoppers…
wore swimshoes for a month…
had no cavities…
learned about camouflage..
bought and planted a flower garden for mommy...
ran through the sprinklers…only on watering days of course…
wore a fedora every day for a month…
said goodbye to a BFF...
ate a lot of yummy food…
tried to stay out of trouble….but it was so hard…
became obsessed with ponies…
gave Shaun 3 post-vomit baths…
got an iphone…
started to wonder about the middle-of-the-night neck massages from Duck…
learned how to pray through Scripture…
and what makes mom scream most of all….((snakes))…
