Kitten Update {6 & 7 weeks}

So I’m the first to admit that having these kitties around has been fun.

For a while….

And now, I’m kind of over it.  For some reason, I had it in my mind that they would wean at 6 weeks and off they would go to their new homes.

Nope.

More like 8-10 weeks.  So here we are with 4 very rambunctious, trouble causing kittens.  And 4 very doting children, who insist upon playing with, carrying around, and (ahem) fighting over said kittens.  It’s really a bit more drama than this momma can handle….


































It’s all fun and games until a kitten gets trapped in the play-kitchen’s oven.

Or climbs up the screen door.  Or poops in the school room.  Or gets stuck in the wall between cabinets.  Or gets colored on with markers. 

Yep.  All of those have happened…









































I will say that all of this attention is making for some pretty sweet kittens, who are all very tolerant and patient with kids.





















































So…anyone want a kitten?

Kitten Update {5 Weeks}

What an adventurous week these little furballs had!


They are eating bits of solid food, and taking little licks of water.  They are busy romping around, playing with each other and interacting with us so much more.









They are so curious.

We often find them inside a boot, chomping at shoelaces or climbing in and out of baskets.  They wrestle with one another as well.







We are having daily playtime with the kittens now, even though poor Maycee doesn’t seem to enjoy us letting her babies run free. 

It’s essentially complete chaos with four kids and four kitties and two mommas trying to watch all of them and maintain some kind of order….







This one is my boy.


I am secretly plotting to keep him.

Kitten Update {4 Weeks}

These sweet little kitties are a month old already.

I can not believe how fast it has gone.  Just two more weeks and we will have to find new homes for them… 












Momma cat has been kind to allow us a few play times with them this week.  They are really moving around well and are no longer content to stay in their box.








Maycee hasn’t been very happy being locked up in our closet for 4 weeks.

I think between that, and the fact that these little cutties are mobile, has made her very antsy to relocate and she has moved them several times this week.  After breakfast one morning we heard little wailing meows to discover that they had been moved into our linen closet and one of them was falling off the shelf.  (You can see momma cat below the shelf.)


























Oh the broken hearts when these little furballs leave us....
